Experience the Best of Hemet

Hemet is a hidden gem in Riverside County, southern California. This designated Tree City, by the Arbor Day Foundation, for its dedication to the local forest, is also home to the longest running outdoor play in the United States, The Ramona Pageant, California’s official outdoor play.

The Ramona Outdoor Play

Enjoy the longest-running outdoor play in the country! It has been running since 1923, and is referred to locally as “The Ramona Outdoor Play,” and can be enjoyed at the open-air Ramona Bowl Amphitheater, a historic landmark and California treasure.

Western Science Center

Visit the state-of-the-art science museum and marvel at fascinating prehistoric fossils while you let your imagination take over. The hands-on activities, like the “make your own fossil,” are extremely popular.

Diamond Valley Lake

Cast your line at one of the best fishing sites in the state. It spans more than 4,500 acres and is renowned for its monster-sized fish. Catch channel catfish, shad, bluegill, rainbow trout, striped bass, smallmouth and largemouth.

Historic Hemet Theater

Experience the nostalgic charm of this historic site in the heart of downtown Hemet. Built in 1921, after the original theater was badly damaged (just across the street) in an earthquake in 1913, the old-world architecture and decor will take you back in time to an earlier era. There are numerous events held here throughout the year.

Diamond Valley Golf Club

Play a round at this 450-acre course, in the San Jacinto Mountains and savor the lush fairways, rolling terrain, waterscapes and the beautiful native plants. Additional facilities include a chipping and pitching green with bunker, a putting green and a driving range.
